This is my mission for Love Your Beauty, where I've traded the pursuit of perfection for the celebration of self-love. Hi! I'm LaTasha, the founder of Love Your Beauty, LLC, an athletic apparel and wellness brand designed to promote self-love, empowerment, and inner beauty. Love Your Beauty was originally born in 2005 in Chicago, IL as a beauty business where I offered makeup and skincare services as well as taught classes.
However, Love Your Beauty has come a very long way since 2005 and so have I. After relocating to Tampa, Florida, “life-ing” through a pandemic, and undergoing an intentional healing journey, I decided to rebrand LYB as an athletic apparel and wellness brand. Instead of focusing on external beauty, I decided to pivot my focus to internal beauty and overall wellness.
We all want to look and be our best to the public eye, but regardless of how good we look, the beauty that exerts the most power lives internally. That means taking care of our mental and physical health; being confident in our beauty with or without makeup; and loving our body regardless of our size. These are lessons that I am constantly relearning. Just like most of us, I have dealt with physical and emotional experiences that have caused me to feel insecure and self-conscious. Heartbreak, adult acne, body dysmorphia, and weight loss issues, to name a few, have created feelings of inadequacy that had lived in me for many years. I used makeup and expensive body shapers to cover up my insecurities and topped it all off with a blurred sense of happiness. This was not healthy and sustainable if I truly wanted to live a fulfilling life. I needed to be comfortable with my physical appearance the way it was. So, I chose to love every lump and curve of my body while still taking care of it. I found myself wearing athletic apparel every single day, not wearing makeup, and basking in the comfort of just being authentically me.
Now, Love Your Beauty represents a journey towards self-love. Self-love is intimately tied to the choices we make about how we present ourselves to the world. I believe that clothing is more than just fabric; it's an expression of who we are and how we feel. That's why I've chosen athletic apparel as the canvas for my message of self-love, empowerment, and inner beauty. By choosing athletic apparel, I'm not just offering comfortable clothing; I'm providing a tangible reminder that self-love is an ongoing journey that deserves to be celebrated every day. With every piece you wear, you're making a statement that self-love is the foundation upon which you build a life of confidence, positivity, and empowerment.
